Comms Wireless Engineer
The responsibilities for this position include developing and qualifying embedded wireless device designs (802.11 a/b/g, Mobile Broadband 2G/3G, Bluetooth, UWB and GPS) for desktop, portable and server computer systems. Duties include all activities necessary to take a design from concept to production including: technical requirement definition, hardware and software definition, working with suppliers for software and hardware development, debug, test issue resolution, product qualification and factory ramp support. Additional duties can product sustaining support, product refresh, and rollout to multiple computer systems. The developmental engineer will be responsible for working with design team, cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure his or her design meets the requirements for: feature set, functionality, cost, reliability, regulatory compliance, computer system requirement and industry standards compliance.
Candidate must have a BSEE/MSEE and a solid hardware electrical engineering background with a minimum of 5 years of wireless communications experience; the candidate should also have experience with developing and qualifying embedded wireless device designs (802.11 a/b/g, Mobile Broadband 2G/3G, Bluetooth, UWB and GPS) as well as RFI and noise reduction techniques such as shielding, filtering, etc.; experience managing and interfacing with vendors and ODM’s as well as internal customers; must be able to understand system level tradeoffs and work with a cross-functional team to achieve a design that is optimized for manufacturability, volume, and wireless performance; candidate must be proficient in the use of RF test equipment including spectrum and network analyzers; experience measuring performance parameters such as radiation patterns, antenna gains, VSWR, and RF noise levels; strong interpersonal and presentation skills is a must; Knowledge of GSM, CDMA, Wi-Fi, and other wireless technologies is desired.

QUALIFICATION
Candidate must have a BSEE/MSEE and a solid hardware electrical engineering background with a minimum of 5 years of telecommuncations or network experience; Understanding of networking and communications technologies such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, 802.3 desirable; experience managing and interfacing with vendors and ODM’s as well as internal customers; expert knowledge of analog and digital circuit theory and principles; excellent verbal and written communication; excellent team leadership skills; expert problem solving and analysis skills; ability in organizing and managing multiple projects, setting priorities and working independently under aggressive timelines; proficient in reading and understanding technical data sheets, schematics and board layout;
