Version 10.0 Major Enhancements
===============================
General:
- Design automatically inserted when opening new project
- New project/design automatically closed when opening existing project
- Files may be "dragged and dropped" into HFSS, causing them to be opened
Modeling:
- Fillets and chamfers added
- Import of Pro/Engineer model added
- Export of STEP and IGES models supported
- Models may be drawn using interactive mode or by directly entering
information into Properties dialog
- DXF/GDS import now similar to that of Ansoft Designer
- Latest ACIS version (R14 Service Pack 4) included in HFSS
- Healing tools included
Meshing:
- Meshing signficantly improved
Solution-related:
- 64-bit solving capability added to HFSS 10 on Windows
- Parametric analyses and frequency sweeps may now be distributed
to multiple computers
- Convergence may also be based on output variables
- Finite thickness at DC can now be specified
- W-elements may now be extracted
- Datalink capability added to link near field and far field data
from SIwave to HFSS, near field data from Maxwell to HFSS,
and ferrite materials from Maxwell to HFSS
- Meshes for solution setups can now be retrived from another project/design
- Multiple new incident wave types added
Post processing:
- Touchstone header includes information about ports and modes/terminals
- Matrix data may be reordered either alphanumerically or in user-specified order
- Active S-, Y-, and Z-parameters now calculated
- Theta now primary sweep variable
- "Quick report" option displays desired quantity for all passes / frequencies
- Group delay
Optimization:
- New Sequential Nonlinear Programming (SNLP) optimizer
- New integer-based optimizer
Scripting:
- New script queries added throughout the software (view scripting documentation
for details)
- Script arguments may now be specified when launching a script
- HFSS scripts can be executed using Matlab
Help:
- Increased help coverage
- Scripting help (including searching the scripting help) may now be accessed
directly in the HFSS interface
Documentation:
- Documentation updated to include details on all aspects of HFSS |
