Skyworks unrolls GaAs attenuators WiMAX, WLAN apps

Skyworks has introduced a new family of general purpose gallium arsenide (GaAs) attenuators with distortion performance for various types of linear applications including UMTS, W-CDMA, WiMAX and WLAN.
The company said these GaAs digital single-positive-control step attenuators are also designed for base station transmitter and receivers, and can be used in RFID transceivers. Targeted at OEMs building any type of receiver or modem, these broadband, low-insertion loss attenuators are built in packages of 3-by-3mm.
The bilateral radio frequency ports allow input and output. In addition, an external control voltage of 2.7-5.5V is required.
These products are available for sampling: SKY12322 that operates from 500MHz to 4GHz; SKY12323 that operates from 500MHz to 3GHz; and, SKY12325 that operates from 500MHz to 6GHz.
