PowerPC Software Engineering Lead
Department Description: PowerPC Software Engineering Lead in NMG Software R&D Organization in China
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
This is a leadership and software engineering role within the Asia NMG Software R&D team based in China. The function will report into the local onsite management.
The key responsibilities are:
- Architect and develop QuiccEngine microcode and the associated API/drivers for Freescale PowerQuicc Communication Processor.
- Provide leadership to a team of software engineers to execute development project according to internal/external requirements.
- Oversight of the Generation/Publishing of benchmark results and Application Notes that illustrate the performance available from Freescale PowerQuicc Communication Processor.
- Provide the main contact point between local DSP team and A/P technical management.
- Able to work with cross functional teams from different regions during the development process.
- Occasional travel to work at customer site is required.
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
- Degree in Computer Science, Electronic/Microprocessor Engineering, or similar discipline.
- Minimum 5 years experience in microprocessor.
- Solid understanding of communication systems, experience in networking technology such as broadband access and CPE would be an advantage.
- A strong embedded software and operating system background, demonstrable Linux/RTOS knowledge is an advantage. Experience in Linux kernel-space programming is very desirable.
- Experience in project management would be an advantage. This role is one of team guidance and technical contribution. Flexibility to travel will be required although limited in frequency/duration.
