Position: RF Antenna Test Engineer

JOB SUMMARY: The RF test engineer is responsible for conceiving, designing, and implementing both manual custom fixtures and fully automated test equipment. He/She will work closely with design engineering, manufacturing, customers and program management to define test strategies, implement testability and deliver solutions.
Additionally, this position will support new product introductions and sustaining product testing and work with design and manufacturing engineering on manufacturability and testability issues.
Candidate must have an intense customer focus and be able to satisfy both internal and external customer requirements.  Experience with Labview and Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) is required as is experience with Antenna and wireless module products. Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing and mistake-proofing techniques and quality system tools.

Essential Functions:
1.        Lead and implement product testing both in-house and for external suppliers.
2.        Responsible for creating and procure tools and fixtures for testing, creating set-up and test procedures for testing.
3.        Assure RF test system and related equipments to be calibrated.
4.        Responsible for all phases of testing, from test concept through final delivery of data and reports.
5.        Conduct product design validation and perform test with system preventative maintenance.
6.        Participate in designs and provide design improvement inputs.  Implement continuous improvements in product testing activities to drive design for production yield, cost effectiveness, and product reliability.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1.        Proficiency in using electronic test equipments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, protocol testers, network analyzers, vector signal analyzers, Satimo anechoic chamber, TDR(Time domain reflectometry),and other wireless and RF test equipment.
2.        The full testing process from product integration through validation and production.
3.        Testing methodologies including planning, staging, execution, and reporting under strict documentation control.
4.        Solid knowledge in mobile protocols such as GSM and the evolutions of these protocols to OFDM based protocols such as LTE and WiMAX. Good system level knowledge to perform product RF tests that use a mixture of digital signal processing/modulation, low noise RF, high efficiency power amplifiers and antennas.
5.        Good understanding the challenges and physics of RF signal propagation.
6.        Performing field measurements to determine coverage, capacity, interference and other critical wireless performance parameters.
7.        Good knowledge of applicable Telecom (CTIA) and environmental standards (FCC, UL CE) would be an asset.
8.        Good knowledge of scripting (VB, C#, Perl, Python, Ruby) for the purpose of test automation would be an asset.
Required Experience:
1.        BSEE degree in the field with 4+ years of related experience.  MSEE is preferred but not necessary.
2.        Proficient in mathematics analysis, and have very good technical writing skills.
3.        Excellent communication skills cross organization and customer with team-play mindsets.
