The purpose of this Application Note is to discuss the removal of
unwanted direct current (DC) outputs in the context of a full
radio frequency (RF)-baseband system.
The DC component of the Gaussian Minimum-Shift Keying
(GMSK) signal used in Global System of Mobile
communications® (GSM®) can contain a significant amount of
DC. As can be seen in Figure 1, the spectrum of the complex
signal passes through DC without a notch or a significant peak.
Thus, DC can be treated as any other spectral component in the
signal.
