[讨论] 讨论一下PA的效率问题

PA spec常注明GSM,DCS效率,
用电源+evaluation board好像测不出来。电流控制和电压控制的PA至少在电源显示的耗电流上没有可比性,虽然实际效率相差无几。再者8分之一timeslot工作的特性也造成测试PA效率的困扰。
哪位知道IC design怎样定义PA 效率?有标准的测试计算过程吗?

<P>用电源和EVB应该还是可以测个大概PAE的。</P><P>PAE 公式可以简单定为
PAE = (Pout – Pin)/Vpa*Ipa
其中
Pout = PA的Output power
Pin = PA的Input power
Vpa=PA的电压</P><P>Ipa=PA的电流。你可以把测电流的时间调长一些,就可以避免TDD的影响,测出一个较平均的电流。</P><P> </P>

<P>好主意,high power拉长测试时间减小TDD影响,</P><P>另外,我专门测过RFMD &amp; skyworks的效率,不知道是否由于电流控制和电压控制的差别,至少在power supply的显示上,同等level 5的情况下3.8V电源显示电流相差很大,RFMD=0.5A,sky=1.2A,没有可比性,实际上效率应该没有差异的,比较困惑。</P><P><TABLE 176pt; <P>Skyworks的PA没用过。RFMD的以前测过的,PA电流大概只有250mA阿。</P><P>zhj313,你是在手机上测的,还是demoboard上测的?你给出那个表是什么意思呢,看不太懂。groups说的对,匹配对PA的功耗影响很大</P>

<P>demoboard,  不好意思,测试表格贴上去有点乱</P><P>以我的测试结果RFMD的PAE=(2000mW-2mW)/(3.8*0.424*1000)=1998/1611.2=124% ???  奇怪的结果,如果是0.25A那更不得了了,呵呵</P><P>sky的PAE=1998/4541=43.9%接近50%,在33dBm这个效率比较正常</P><P>所以我感觉可能与timeslot和PA工作方式有关,一个电流控制方式一个是电压控制方式,在power supply上表现不同?</P><P>做PA的IC test的朋友可能比较清楚</P><P>又想到一点,可能两种控制方式和timeslot使power supply显示电流为峰值?平均值?还是有效值?影响PA效率的判断,具体哪个是哪个我也搞不清楚</P>

<P>可以分别测在level5和level19的电流。</P>
<P>假设测得level5和level19的平均电流为 I5  I19。注意一定是平均值,不会超过400mA的。</P>
<P>这样P5=32dbm  P19=5dbm在代入这个公式 E=(P5-P19)/(I5-I19)*V*8*1000 </P>

考虑到T/R Switch的Issertion Loss, PA outpower 应该大于33dBm, 一般要达到35dBm

level1和level19对于同样的回波的情况下的Ploss是不一样的,当然你这种情况能减少点误差,但是实际上减少的很小

突然有个疑问,按照(Pout-Pin)/(VI)的话随着功率的增加,效率反而降低了?那为什么说饱和功率下效率最大呢?
