3. HAOSF (RTOS-based High-Abstract-OS System Framework)
An excellent OS System Framework has enough capability of ensuring that products based on itself are able to work normally. Meanwhile, it also brings enough convenience with all developers using it.
Presently, the more prevalent embedded RTOSs on the handsets, are like Nucleus Plus, Linux and VxWorks (especially, Nucleus Plus and Linux due to open source). When envisaging these open sources, we should take account of what concepts of design enable the enterprise to obtain the greatest value. If adopted, moreover, can they provide the products with the difference among other companies with existing customers and potential customers?
In general, for the system-level open source, we should abstract an adaptation layer upon it, namely so-called “Secondary Exploiture”, which is convenient for the migration of platform and modularity amongst models. And then, upon the adaptation layer we shall establish the system framework to avoid relating to the hardware, namely so-called “Independence of Hardware”, as specified by Figure 4.
