System Application Engineer
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for technical customer support for a multi-protocol (AAL1, TC/IMA and MLPPP)
telecom chip aimed at wire line and wireless access applications. Role requires hardware
debugging and software development and debug skills, generation of technical collateral
(including demos and documentation), and support of sales/marketing in the pursuit of
design wins. Software development includes primarily C language development. Hardware
debugging includes use logic analyzer and scope for signal testing.

Candidate must have strong embedded programming skills.  Linux and/or VxWorks OS experience
is desired. Telecom protocol background is strongly desired (AAL1, TC/IMA, HDLC/ MLPPP,
T1/E1, SONET/SDH, SPI-3, UTOPIA-2, POS-PHY Level2 etc.)  Lab skills and board bring-up
experience are also strongly desired.  

The job responsibilities include:
?         Re-creating customer field defects in the lab; helping software and /or hardware
groups in United States for resolution.
?         Developing sample applications code using LSI’s software API
?         Writing application notes and other technical documentation
?         Working with FAE to provide quick resolution for customer issues
?         Creating issue report in LSI customer support system
?         Providing  in-depth software  training for new customers, ODMs and sales/FAE
?         Work with other LSI Telecom software/hardware groups to prototype and promote the
best solutions for our customer base
?         Traveling to customers’ sites to demonstrate the evaluation tools and validate
that the IC and software work in their application.  Travel required for critical problem
resolution (maximum about %20).
?         Participating in weekly customer conference calls with US team
  

Qualifications
Functional/Industry Knowledge Required:
- Minimum 3 - 5 years Applications Engineering experience in a product development
environment
- Proven Applications Engineering skills and customer support experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with writing documents
(data-sheet, application-notes, etc.)
- Experience with telecom technology and standards (i.e. AAL1, TC/IMA and ML/PPP standards)
- Familiar with tester equipments like ANT-20, Adtech, logic analyzer
