1.Position: Software Engineer (Service Processor Software) in Shanghai


Essential functions:

* Work with the BIOS and service teams to implement functions that improve the diagnosability of platform problems. *  support manufacturing and the field in applications of the service processor to reduce manufacturing and service costs.
* Implement platform specific customizations for service processor platforms
* Triage, debug internal/external escalations; provide and release bugfixes.

Marginal Functions:

- Preparation of software distributions.
- Reviewing hardware designs.
Required Knowledge:

*  C, assembler, scripting languages, linux, kernel, gdb, software development process.
* server management and associated protocols (IPMI, KCS, SNMP).
* broad understanding of low level software, operating systems, computer hardware.
* independent, thorough, responsible, and technically competent.
* has good communication skills, technical leadership, documentation, and organizational skills.
* fluency in Mandarin and English
* work well with others.
Preferred Knowledge:
* Understanding of x86/PowerPC/ARM architectures, Linux kernel, BIOS, booting, operating systems (Linux, Windows, Solaris), drivers, disks, networking, PCI-X/E, "how x86s work". Programming and scripting skills for contributing to our test environment. Detailed knowledge of the AMD Opteron and associated chipsets.

2.BIOS engineer to provide support for Sun's x86 server products.
Job Description
This position is for a BIOS engineer to provide customization, debugging and sustaining support for Sun's x86/x64 server products. Main responsibilities includes triage of problems, debugging, and providing bug fixes.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
Preparation of BIOS releases. Reviewing hardware designs. Supports proudct team leads in the US. Supports global field and customer engineers. HDT.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Software engineer skilled in:
* BIOS
* x86/x64 PC architecture
* broad understanding of low-level software, operating systems, computer hardware, usb.
* independent, thorough, responsible, and technically competent.
* has good communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
* works well with others.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:

3.Program Manager, NSG Revenue Product Engineering

Job Description

Position: Program Manager for NSG RPE (Shanghai) Title: Member of Technical Staff 3/4 Job Grade: Z-7/9

Essential Functions: Provide program managment and software release support to NSG's Revenue Product Engineering group. The responsibilities include:

- Keep track of software releases and schedules for BIOS, OS, Test, and QA
- Run SW meetings; coordinate features and bugs fixes schedules with hardware and OS teams; address dependencies in hardware and software schedules.
- Run bug court, generate bug lists and reports, ensure bugs and escalations are being addressed in a timely fashion
- Build and release patches, generate soft CD and create Web Postings.
- Work with Legal Dept to ensure compliance

Marginal Functions:
- Maintainence of build/release machine and control of software release gate.
Required Knowledge:
Detail oriented. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate in English and Mandarin.  Knowledge of Makefiles, C, shell scripts and Perl.

Preferred Knowledge:
- Experience managing large software development projects across different teams.
- Good people skills, must work well with others.
- Technical knowledge on different components of a server product.
- Experience working with x86 based hardware platform a plus.
