Position 1: Software Engineer
Job Description
Participate (in a senior/lead role) on a project team of engineers involved in the maintenance and development of software for Cisco IP Telephony products. Requires strong background in SW design, documentation and implementation of VOIP products with expertise of Voice and Data Networking Architectures and Protocols. The candidate must have strong teamwork, communication and leadership skills.
Job Responsibilities
Provide team guidance and develop products using the Cisco development process Unit Test, Code Review and Static Analysis
Maintain software of existing IP Telephony Products
Mentor Junior Engineers
Lead the development of project goals, schedules, and resource planning
Develop Software Functional/Design Specifications for software features
Design and deliver system software to specified requirements
Influence the design of interfaces between products to ensure inter-operability
Resolve design issues
Define new software product features
Develop large portions of software independently and rapidly
Participate in Cisco's Patent Program.
Job Skills
Ability to apply extensive experience as a networking generalist or specialist
Requires experience with more than one of the LAN/WAN and network layer protocols
Requires expertise with one or more of the VOIP protocols SIP, MGCP or H.323
Expert in C/C++ with Java/JBuilder OO experience a plus
Strong knowledge of advanced architecture principles and design practices
Strong knowledge of advanced datacom concepts
Possess in-depth understanding of competitive products
Superior bug fixing and testing skills
Ability to plan large projects
Ability to solve system wide problems

Position 2: Software/QA Engineer
Join Cisco’s enterprise voice team as a strong, contributing Development Test Engineer focused on developing the industry’s best IP Phones. Candidates must have a proven track record in software test methodology, including: System/Next-Node Test, Performance test, Stress/duration test, VoIP feature interaction test, protocol test and regression automation. Candidate must have strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Coordinate test efforts across multiple test teams and multiple sites
- Mentor and train more Junior engineers both from a process and technical perspective
- Review Product Requirements Document, SW Functional and Design Specifications, and other relevant documentation to extract detailed test cases and provide additional requirements for testability
- Develop/review comprehensive test strategies; test plans; test effort sizing and schedules
- Define, evaluate, and/or develop required test tools and test equipment.
- Design, build-out, and maintain test networks and test lab
- Execute and add value to in-depth feature, scalability, and performance test suites.
- Plan regression strategy and perform regressions, including the design and implementation of automated/unattended regression suites
- Support the design team by debugging issues; isolating root cause of issues and partnering with design/development team on problem resolution.
- Certify software release for general availability to customers. Coordinate and/or lead cross-platform test efforts
Specific Job skills:
- Experience with call control feature set testing
- Experience with Unix/Linux and Windows clients and servers
- Solid knowledge of UDP/TCP/IP
- Experience in test scripting with Python, Perl, Expect/TCL, C, or Java
- Knowledge of performance measurement techniques and benchmarking
- Experience with a set of the following protocols from a QA/certification point of view: DHCP, DNS, TFTP, SCCP, SIP, H.323, MGCP, RTP, sRTP, IPSec, VPNs, SSL, HTTPS, NAT.
- Broad knowledge of IP network protocols and network design including Cisco router and switch configuration.

Position 3: Hardware Engineer
Self-motivated, team oriented engineer to be part of a geographically disparate engineering organization developing the next generation IP telephony platforms.
Responsibilities include participating in all areas of platform development including design and architecture of modules, timing analysis, system and module testing.
Developing tests for prototype bring up and verification. Working with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, diagnostics, signal integrity and more) to ensure technically robust product development. Explore and evaluate new tools and methodologies.
Skills Required
1. Ability to communicate clearly with team members and teamwork skills.
2. Excellent understanding of digital hardware design, power design, audio, high speed interfaces, timing analysis and signal integrity issues.
3. Understanding of analog electronic concepts and EMC.
4. Working knowledge of Concept schematics capture, Signal Integrity simulation, Verilog HDL, familiarity with Allegro.
5. Experience with high volume run products.
