Hi everyone, I am new to be here :)
The mobile TV is hot pot in mobile application design now. However the market seems not be enough activie to attract the further investiment, many mobile vendors have to put off their project on mobile TV. Non-technology related issues seem to be solved before mass application both in Europe and North America, and Korea.
In terms of the mobile TV technology, several areas are covered. First the signal transmission standard, as you know, every country tries to take their own standard. We China announces CMMB as the offical standard, which seems still in question to be widely deployed. Europe takes DVB-H, America takes MediaFLO, and Korea takes DMB-T. Related baseband chips actually are ready with baseband processor. The second area is the application processor which should run the application decoding such as h264 decoding with hardware/software/DSP support. The third area covers the display technology. As the television customers be normally sensitive to the display quality, therefore the end device should provide accept quality on display monitor.
