Senior Software Engineer


We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work in the New Technology Group, responsible for owning and developing advanced storage solution focusing on small office and home office (SOHO).  Additional responsibilities include participation in and contribution to software functional/design reviews, writing functional/design specifications, providing white papers as appropriate to describe advanced technology and working with the testing organization to develop test plans. The selected candidate will also be required to mentor junior engineers and may lead projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in file systems, data protection, operating systems, networking development under Linux. The candidate will also be involved in local SOHO marketing development, some customer engagement background will be a plus. The candidate must demonstrate flexibility, strong motivation and a proven record of meeting aggressive deadlines as well as the ability to work as part of a cross-functional team spanning many geographical locations.

Experience and Education
l        4+ years in linux application/system-level software development
l        Strong C and C++ programming experience
l        Strong experience in scripting language such as Python/Perl/Ruby/Shell script
l        Familiar with Java/C# programming
l        Familiar with GUI development tool under Linux such as Tcl/Tk
l        Familiar with popular SCM tools such as CVS/VSS/Perforce/Rational ClearCase
l        Knowledge of commercially available software development tools/vendors
l        Knowledge in Unix/Linux, Real-time, MicroKernel, and/or Windows operating systems
l        Working knowledge of Intel processors. IA32, XScale, ARM, SCSI, RAID, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, or storage systems is a plus
l        Proficiency in both spoken and written English
l        BSCS/BSEE or equivalent experience (MSCS/MSEE preferred)
