Embedded Software Engineer
Job Overview:
The Embedded Software Engineer will work collaboratively with our customers to provide software design and implement support for Atheros chip based on new wireless products. The software will consist of low-level wireless drivers as well as protocol and application enhancements and system extensions. Successful candidates will take the customers software through the entire development cycle (design, implementation, maintenance).
Duties/Responsibilities:
Providing support to existing software and upgrades
Design and development of firmware and software, including documentation and testing
Work with our ODM partners to develop software requirements, review hardware designs, perform software porting, and troubleshoot problems
Qualifications:
· BS Computer Science or Electrical engineering, MS preferred
· 2+ years software engineering experience, at least one year of which has been working on embedded devices.
Skills/Experience:
· Hands-on experience with cellular voice/audio subsystem and algorithms (CODEC, AEC, MP3) implementation is a must.
· Hands-on design/development experience in Linux/VxWorks and/or other modern embedded RTOS and driver software architecture is required, especially in small-footprint, low power embedded software products.
· You should have excellent C programming and assembly language programming experience.
· Experience in hardware bring-up, embedded driver development, BSP development for MIPS, ARM family processors or equivalent system-on-a-chip CPUs is a must as well as strong knowledge of embedded debugging environment tools such as in-circuit emulators and logic analyzers.
· You should have demonstrated excellent team, communication, and interpersonal skills in addition to strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
Software QA Engineer
Shanghai, China
In this role, you will be responsible for writing software test plans, test cases and designing tests for Atheros products. You will also be responsible for maintaining testbeds. The individual in this position will be performing initial debug activities as well as providing detailed bug information to software developers and working with them to correct/eliminate the issues. You will also be called upon to write automation test scripts in Perl, Tck/Tk, Expert, etc.
Qualifications:
MSCS or BSCS and 3+ years of Layer 2 WLAN test engineering experience via testing and/or developing of networking products. Experience with Windows, Embedded Linux and other RTOS environments is a must. You must possess a strong background in writing test plans, test cases, designing tests and maintaining testbeds. Excellent skills with respect to automation scripts (Perl, Tcl, Expect etc.)is required. Must have demonstrated ability in conducting tests and providing test reports. A good understanding of WLAN is highly desirable.
Software Engineer
Shanghai, China
Responsibilities:
-To develop, integrate and test our SW products from our Shanghai and/or other world wide SW teams
Requirements:
- Experience with wireless drivers and/or other networking drivers
- Knowledge of networking protocols.
- Familiarity with hardware debugging.
- 2 to 5 years of OS and/or embedded SW development, integration and release experience preferable in communication and WiFi
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- OS and/or embedded SW experiences are strongly preferred
- Good Chinese and English oral/written communication skills
IC qualification engineer/IC Reliability engineer
Responsibilities for this position are:
chip qualification function in Shanghai; designing the burn-in hardware; vector translation and bring up for IC burn-in service; owns the other reliability qualification such as ESD, HTOL, Latch-up….; working with Atheros overseas experts and local reliability service vendors for IC qualifications.
Some restrictions for the candidates:
Experience in Burn-in Board design, vector translation & bring up
Trouble shooting capability in Hardware & vector
Good comprehension in IC reliability qualification (Burn-in, ESD, HTOL, Latch-up…)
Good relationship with burn-in service lab as a plus
Good communication skills in English with overseas experts
