Television is Coming to Cell Phones
Cell phones as TV receivers. Catch the latest
news and sports scores, view your favorite
sitcoms and dramas, or watch cartoons with
high-quality video and audio. Exciting advances in
mobile videocasting are now possible thanks to
Freescale’s solution for digital video broadcast to
handheld devices (DVB-H).
Mobile TV converges two of the most popular
consumer devices ever — televisions and cell
phones. Consumers want what mobile TV has to
offer. More than 75 percent of respondents in a
July 2004 survey* rated mobile TV a “good” or
“excellent” idea.
Mobile multimedia represents a huge opportunity
for the wireless semiconductor industry. Various
“flavors” of mobile TV are already established
standards in large North American, European and
