Baseband Engineer
  
Location: Shanghai     
Reporting to: Hardware Development Team Manager.
  
This role is critical to our growing business to ensure we achieve our product roadmap. The baseband engineer will specify and develop the digital sections of the hardware platforms, including memory interfaces, peripherals and power supplies through concept, component selection, schematic, assisting PCB CAD layout engineers, testing and validation of system performance.  
  
  
Key Responsibilities:
  
  
o Development of digital sections of Evaluation Platforms and Reference Designs for Nvidia’s cellular modem chipsets, through data sheet analysis, component selection, schematic capture, layout guideline definition, PCB level test and debug.
o Analysis of performance, current consumption, evaluation of system components, such as memories, power supplies, audio, interface devices, USB, battery systems.
o Customer Support
  
Education/Qualifications required:
o    Degree in a relevant discipline such as Electronic Engineering.   
o    .
  
Ideal Experience:
o    4 years working in the Core development team of a Semiconductor  company making cellular modem chipsets
  
  
  
Technical Skills & Abilities required:  
  
o    Experience of developing complex SOC based products
o    Experience of low power DDR, NAND/NOR FLASH memory systems
o    Experience of developing low power products, efficient power architectures and using DCDCs
o    Power consumption measurement and optimisation
o    Knowledge of USB interface design and test
o    PCB Design Tools, schematic entry, PCB simulation etc
o    PCB design and layout rules for high speed design
o    Board level integration and test
o    Use of real-time embedded microprocessor debug tools
o    Use of oscilloscope,  logic analyser and digital signal generator tools
o    Knowledge of low level software driver debug
o    Knowledge of mobile phone hardware an advantage
o    Customer support
  
  
Travel Required: The role will be based at NVIDIA’s site in China, with occasional travel to customers and suppliers.
