【简 介】:We report a theoretical and numerical estimation of the ultimate limits of bandwidth efficient delivery of high bitrate digital signals in wireless communication systems when multielement arrays (MEAs) are used. An informationtheoretic approach is taken to investigate, for a fading
environment, the value of using a substantial number of antenna elements at both transmitter and receiver. We constrain the channel bandwidth and total transmitted power and show that by forming a channel using increased spatial dimensions one can get extraordinarily large capacity.
