There is significant flexibility and variance in the design of mobile phones. From the physical look to the
component layout, to the overall cost, there are several design variables to consider before finalising a mobile
handset product. This design variance can greatly affect the audio characteristics of the mobile phone and
consequently affect the performance of the NS and AEC algorithms. The purpose of this document is to provide
guidelines for designing mobile handsets for optimal use with the current two microphone NS and AEC
algorithms included in CVC-HS-5-3-1.
