【简 介】:There is a pervasive requirement for digital filtering:Whether your interest lies with Digital Video Broadcast, Digital Video Effects or digital wireless communications, the demandfor more processing power is increasing. A sizeable proportion of thatdemand is for digital filtering. Whilst Traditional ASIC’s & DSP processor solutions, are leveraging smaller geometry processes to deliver more parallel MAC architectures with faster clock rates, FPGA’s also reap the speed and density advantages of the process shrink, but deliver an inherently parallel architecture that is programmable. This is a potent combination when it comes to designing an optimal digital filterfor a specific function.This presentation reviews several filter case studies performed for customers building W-CDMA systems. The intention is to demonstrate how the Virtex architecture can deliver a broad range of solutions that meet the varied range of filter parameters found within a wireless system.
