Video communications have persuaded operators and manufacturers to redefine the business model around new multi-services networks capable of delivering video based services like video-on-demand and TV beyond of the classical services like voice and Internet data. The biggest challenges are the required bandwidth and the user access anywhere. The later is achievable from using the next generation wireless networks where WiMAX is part of. In this paper, we report a WiMAX 16e measurement campaign at 2.5GHz with an EIRP (Effective Isotropic Radiated Power) of 50W. As far as we know, this is the first publication describing WiMAX 16e Radio-Frequency (RF) measurements at 2.5 GHz, in urban areas and in a motorway at high speed around 140 km/h.
