Abstract
This paper presents a comprehensive review of the Windows Mobile Radio Interface Layer, RIL,
including the following topics
• Overview of a RIL development project
• Best practices during development and testing
• Typical platform implementation modifications
• New features included in Magneto
Throughout the paper emphasis is placed on providing examples of typical changes required
when porting a sample RIL to a new platform.
This paper is aimed at project managers responsible for RIL projects and engineers responsible
for porting a RIL onto a new system. The information presented is based on experiences gained
porting the RIL onto a variety of platforms and modems.
