1. FR manager
A Manager is required to lead a group of RF engineers in the development of Nortel's Wireless products.
Primary responsibilities of this position is to provide people management and technical leadership to a team of 10+ RF engineers to develop Nortel’s wireless product . The role includes executing interview and hiring to building up the team, performance management of personnel, creation and maintenance of detailed budgets and design estimates, and creation and maintenance of Microsoft Project plans for developments within the group.
The successful candidate must work effectively as part of a multi-site development team with other managers in Canada and the United States, and good written and oral English Language Skills is essential. This position will give you a high degree of visibility and the opportunity to develop and demonstrate your people and technical leadership skills as well as influencing the lifecycle of Nortel Products.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related degree.
- Two or more years of successful telecom-related Hardware Design Management experience. This experience should have included end-to-end delivery in a time-to-market environment, as well as a solid understanding of the product lifecycle process as well as the hardware development process.
- Direct experience dealing with manufacturer Product Introduction teams and facilities.
- Previous experience dealing with external suppliers and OEMs is a must.
- Experience with RF circuit board or power amplifier design (700MHz to 2100MHz), Familiarity with RF test equipment and methodologies
- Knowledge of CDMA, EVDO, GSM, UMTS radio theory & operating principles
- Experience with Project Planning including the ability to create project plans using tools such as Microsoft Project. In addition, the successful candidate will have had experience in creating and maintaining detailed budgets including headcount, expense and capital requirements for a hardware development group. An existing framework must be maintained.
Candidate must have the following additional job skills:
- Good English verbal communication skills with the ability to make presentations to management and peers.
- Good English written skills with the ability to convey important information in reports and design documentation to both management and staff.
- Strong people management skills with the ability to develop and mentor staff and objectively measure and reward individual contribution in the context of the larger group objectives.
- A willingness to work with North American Senior Management to distill the essence of the hardware requirements for new and existing product cycles. The ability to then map those requirements to concrete work plans/budgets and execute those designs on time and within budget.
2. FPGA manager
A FPGA design Manager is required to lead a group of FPGA engineers in the design of hardware for Nortel's products across all our lines of business.
Primary responsibilities of this position include providing people management and technical leadership to a team of 15 engineers responsible for the definition and execution of cost reduction ideas against both new and existing hardware Product Portfolios. The role includes the performance management of personnel, the creation and maintenance of detailed budgets and design estimates, and the creation and maintenance of Microsoft Project plans for developments within the group.
The successful candidate must work effectively as part of a multi-site development team with other managers in Canada and the United States, and good written and oral English Language Skills is essential. This position will give you a high degree of visibility and the opportunity to develop and demonstrate your people and technical leadership skills as well as influencing the lifecycle of Nortel Products.

In addition, the successful candidate will have had experience in creating and maintaining detailed budgets including headcount, expense and capital requirements for a hardware development group. - Familiarity with Telecom-related standards such as ETSI, NEBS, Telcordia and EUED-RoHS, as well as a general understanding of Ethernet, IP and Wireless Terminology would be a strong asset.

Design Manager for NORTEL’s Core OAM (W-NMS, CNM) products
Primary Role and Responsibilities
- Manage a team of 10+ designers
- Lead a team to develop and support Nortel W-NMS and CNM products
- Deliver Core OAM product on time with high quality
- Work with peer teams to improve Core OAM product quality, design support response time
Mandatory Skills

Hardware Design Engineers are required to work with a group of Board and FPGA engineers in the design cost reduction of Nortel's product line.
The successful candidate will work with the team and North America engineers in a wide variety of tasks ranging from documentation, cost analysis, specification writing and reviews, Schematic capture and layout constrain, PCB design review, proto builds and debug, lab test and verification, field issue resolution and manufacturing support. Good written and oral English Language Skills are essential. This position will give you a significant opportunity to develop and demonstrate your technical talent.
The following qualifications and experience are mandatory:
• Bachelors Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related degree with 3 to 5 years of experience.
• Experience in working with board design

- High-speed digital design, including signal integrity simulation and measurement

Knowledge and experience in the following areas would be an asset:

• Familiarity with PPC processing technologies including MPCxxx, SDRAM, FLASH, PCI interconnect and mainstream interface such as UTOPIA, SPI, etc.
