1.Software Engineer –Shanghai  & Shenzhen

QUALIFICATION (DETAIL):
Education:
Ø        BSEE/CS minimum.
Ø        MSEE/CS preferred.
Experience:
Ø         At least 2 years embedded software development working experiences
Ø         Hands on experience with embedded CPU (ARM/MIPS) platform sw such as BSP, Driver, boot loader, porting is a plus, etc.
Ø         Familiar with WiFi system, WLAN Routers, network, and gateway protocol.
Ø         Hands on software development experience in embedded OS, including Linux/xBSD and C programming.  
Ø         Eager to learn new technology and Self motivated, good team work player
Ø         Good command of English and Chinese both in speaking and writing.  
Ø         Ability to be reactive to customer needs coupled with superior problem solving and debug capabilities.
Ø         Knowledge and experience in telecomm system, e.g. xDSL, Cable, xPON a plus.

DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY:

Ø         Customer software design using Atheros' product.
Ø         The role establishes the person as the technical expert for Atheros' based products.
Ø         Must have high technical competence and be able to provide in-depth technical responses to customers and to the company's FAEs during the pre-sales process.
Ø         Once engaged with a customer, must be able to map out the technical details of a system integration plan, from project start through mass production.
Ø         Will also be involved in qualifying and working with third party partners.
Ø         Will work closely with Atheros' development engineering and program management.


2.Sr. Manager Software (GPS)-Shanghai

QUALIFICATION (DETAIL):
Education:
Ø        Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering;
Experience:
Ø         Minimum 8 years of working experience
Ø         Understanding of embedded system and at least 3 years of experience in embedded software design;
Ø         Project or personnel management experience of at least 1 year;
Ø         Strong verbal and written English communication skills

DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY:

To build, manage, and grow software teams and capabilities in Shanghai. Software capabilities include 1. Application; 2. Testing/QA; and 3. Development. They are listed below:
Application
Ø         Porting hosted GPS software to different platforms such as Linux, eCOS, Nucleus, and WinCE;
Ø         Developing integrated GPS system hardware and software solutions based on existing GPS technology to support customers;
Ø         Developing integrated software combining Bluetooth, GPS, and/or WiFi to support combo chips;
Ø         Supporting customer-specific development using SDK (software development kit) and SPK (software porting kit)
Testing/QA
Ø         Building and expanding systematic software testing and QA capacity and capability;
Ø         Implementing and improving company testing and QA process;
Ø         Building road testing and user scenario-specific testing capabilities
Development
Ø         Supporting software development of core GPS software including navigation and measurement in both hosted and embedded environments;
Ø         Software coding support of AGPS, extended ephemeris, dead reckoning, etc

3.Senior Software Engineer (Network Protocol Software) （Switch/network card）

Atheros Communications is a leading developer of semiconductor system solutions. The Atheros software development team is looking for an individual who will lead Protocol Software development projects for new silicon targeting Ethernet applications.

Responsibilities
The main responsibilities for this position are:

§         Design, develop and integrate network protocol software including
o       VLAN/LAG/QoS features
o       Port Mirroring, LAN aggregation, STP, RSTP, MSTP protocols
o       L2 protocols such as GVRP, GMRP
o       L3 protocols
§         Design and develop API's in the form of an SDK for customers
§         Perform integration and emulation testing for Ethernet switch chips
§         Interface with hardware teams on ASIC design features and programming model
§         Assess and scope customer feature requests to determine engineering project plan
§         Support software releases during test and release cycles
§         Provide technical support and training to the field engineers and customers
§         Interact with customers and partners for project requirements and delivery
Qualifications
The person in this role should have the following capabilities and qualifications:

Technical
§         BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
§         4 to 6 years of applicable work experience
§         Experience with L2 and L3 network protocols and security concepts
§         Experience with network management protocols such as SNMP
§         Knowledge of multi-threading and synchronization in a driver environment
§         Strong understanding of OS kernel internals especially Linux/Unix
§         Familiarity with hardware debugging
§         Product architecture, design, implementation and testing experience
§         Experience with OS tools and scripts such as makefiles, PERL, shell scripts
§         Experience with full software life cycle and delivery mechanisms

Non Technical
§         Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
§         Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Chinese and English
§         Self motivated and quick learner
§         Good team player
