The goal for the audible quality of a GSM phone is that it must be able to have "land-line"
quality.
One of the challenges reaching this quality is to remove all what GSM designer call TDMA-noise.
For being able to do remove this kind of noise effective it would be nice to have a model of the
system inluding this noise source
