Measuring Current during GSM Burst

Hi Folks, Has anyone had experience measuring current during a GSM burst using ammeters. I don't want to go to the expense of purchasing an instrument like Agilents 663xx range of Mobile Communication dc Sources as I already have enough dc supplies. I just need an ammeter that can be triggered during the 500uS burst and is obviously fast enough to make a measurement during every burst? I need the current for PAE calculations.
