Need TD-SCDMA expert to hel me understand inter-RAT operation between TD and GSM/GPRS/EDGE:
While considering TD-SCDMA, with category 15 for HSDPA or 24 for HSDPA+, one time slot is used for HS-SCCH and DL dedicated channel, one time slot is used for HS-SICH and UL dedicated channel, 5 time slots are used for HS-DSCH (for HSDPA/HSDPA+ data). With all time slots in a subframe are used, how could an UE perform inter-RAT monitoring or neighbor cell monitoring? Is handover intra-RAT or inter-RAT really required? 3GPP specs say that HSDPA channel can't exist alone and it has to have a companion dedicated channel. Is this requirement is still true for datacard? Is this requirement still required for HSDPA+ or HSPA+ (i.e. Rel7)?
When we have both HSDPA and HSUPA connections simultaneously, it is very likely all 7 time slots in a subframe will be used. How can an UE perform intra-RAT or inter-RAT monitoring? |
