Summary:
Responsible for assuring the quality of electrical components and assemblies supplied to Brocade's manufacturing lines. Develops and ensures execution of commodity quality assurance and improvement plans. Supports to create the commodity quality strategy that serves the long-term needs of the business. As Brocade technical expert for the commodity, is a key influencer for commodity sourcing strategies. Creates opportunities for cost reduction through value engineering as well as assures the timely execution of component part and commodity qualifications.
Job specifications:
1 Assures the ongoing quality of supplied parts.
2 Drives ongoing quality improvement and cost reduction.
3 Develops a commodity quality strategy which supports the ongoing needs of the business.
4 Building and maintenance of influential relationships with supplier's and Brocades technical communities.
Person Specifications:
1. BA or BS in Electrical Engineering, advanced degrees highly desirable.
2. 5 years experience with steadily increasing responsibility in design, supply base, and/or supply quality and process engineering, preferably with networking or electronics companies.
3. Good English language skills (both writing and speaking) required.
4. Technical expertise in the use of and process for making the pertinent commodity items.
5. Ability to anticipate and resolve issues, making decisions on quality related matters in a high-pressure operational environment.
6. Excellent problem solving skills.
7. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
